This is an appliqued antique quilt. Applique unknown 1940's, Set by Dianne Cook, Machine Quilted by Gloria Breithhoop.
This quilt top was given to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Fremont. The applique was beautifully done but the blocks were sewn together using 2-3 threads instead of 1/4" seam. I unsewed the entire quilt and squared the blocks that measured anywhere from 11 1/4" to 12" per side. I purchased a 1940's replica fabric for the border, binding and backing. I would love to know who appliqued this top and where it's been the past 70-80 years.
